Boat and Bicycle Hire

Here you can hire a boat with an outboard motor, suited to both small and large groups, whether you're going fishing or simply out for a trip on the water. If you'd rather explore the island on land, you can also hire a bicycle and discover Otrøya that way.

Fishing in the Romsdalsfjord

Around Otrøya and on the other side of the fjord, there are many good fishing spots, both from boat and from shore. The sheltered location means it's possible to fish on most days of the year, even when the weather turns.

Heggdal Fjord- og Fiskeferie is a registered tourist fishing business with a focus on the sustainable management of shared marine resources. On arrival, you'll be given information on the current fishing regulations, which all guests are required to follow.

Location and Excursions

Otrøya lies at the mouth of the Romsdalsfjord, an area that today is part of Molde municipality. From here you can reach day trips to, among other places, Ålesund, Molde, Kristiansund, the Geirangerfjord and the Atlantic Road (Atlanterhavsveien). The islands of Øyriket (the Island Kingdom) – such as Harøya, Finnøya, Ona, Sandøya and Fjørtoft – are also within reach by boat or bicycle.
