Herdla
Herdla Golfbane is located on the idyllic island Herdla, just outside Bergen. This is a friendly seaside course with sea views from all 9 holes.
Guest players are welcome at Herdla Golfbane. There is an informal atmosphere here that is easy to grow fond of. If you have a motorhome or a boat, the bay is a nice place to stay. If you prefer a hotel, Biologen Herdla is close by.
The course is inspired by Scotland and designed and built by Scots. You can enjoy a nice sea view from all holes. Hjeltefjorden to the west and Herdlefjorden to the east. A rich birdlife can be experienced on the island (236 registered species). A daily sight is the sea eagle swooping by to check if there are any “eagles in the air”. On the sea, cruise ships sail past on their way to and from Bergen. If you are especially lucky, an orca or a whale may appear.
With the new hotel Biologen Herdla as a neighbor, everything is set for a few relaxing days on Herdla. It is also possible to park a motorhome on Herdla. For those arriving by sea, there is a sheltered and spacious guest harbor.
The course is easy to walk, with short distances between the green and the next tee. This is a typical “friendly course”. The birdlife, with more than 230 species on Herdla, is part of the experience. The course is open most of the year, only closed during extreme rainfall or when there is snow, frost, or ice in winter.
It takes about 45 minutes to drive to the course from Bergen city center and Bergen Airport Flesland. Follow the signs to Askøy. After the Askøy Bridge, follow the main road all the way to Herdla.
Herdla Golfshop is open every day from 11:00 to 18:00 during the period 4 April to 30 September 2026.
