Ombo is Rogaland's second largest island. Covering 58 square kilometres, the island is divided between Finnøy and Hjelmeland municipalities. There are several great places to go hiking at Ombo. There are marked trails, or you can try hiking on your own in the rolling landscape of Ombo's interior. You will find moorland, hills and lakes both small and big. Ombo is also a popular place for hunting. If you're lucky, you might spot an elk or other wildlife. Bandåsen is the highest point of the island, towering 515 meters above sea level. The view of Ryfylke from Bandåsen is truly spectacular. The hike is about an hour long, and there are marked trails from both Seltveit and Helgaland.
