Kinn

Where is Kinnaklova?
Kinnaklova is located on the island of Kinn, just off the coast of Florø in Kinn Municipality. The island covers approximately 2.5 km², with its highest point at 315 metres above sea level. There are no regular roads for cars on the island.
How to get to Kinnaklova
The local passenger boat departs from Florø Terminal and serves the islands every day. There are five daily departures to Kinn from Monday to Friday and two departures on Saturdays and Sundays. Read more about boat times from Florø to Kinn here.
Travelling to Kinn by Private Boat
There is a small floating jetty where you can moor your own boat. The price is NOK 100 per 4 hours and NOK 200 per day. The easiest option is to moor your boat in Rognaldsvågen and take a dinghy across to Kinn.
Hiking Season for Kinnaklova
During winter, Kinnaklova may be covered in snow or ice. We therefore recommend hiking when the mountain is free of snow and ice. The season varies depending on conditions but is usually from around February/March to October/November.
Hiking to Kinnaklova
The hike to Kinnaklova starts at the passenger boat quay on the island of Kinn. From the quay, turn right and follow the 1 km gravel road to Kinn Church. The walk from the quay to the church takes approximately 20 minutes at a leisurely pace.
From the church, continue past a fence towards the towering Kinnaklova. If you want to hike up into the gap between the two peaks, make sure you have good footwear and plenty of time. The terrain is steep with a lot of loose rock. Halfway up the cleft, the trail turns slightly to the right, making the ascent easier. From here, you can enjoy beautiful views of Kinn Church to the east and the open sea to the west.
Food and Drink on Kinn
If you are travelling to Kinn, make sure to bring your own food and drinks. There are no cafés, restaurants or shops on the island, so bring everything you need for your visit.
Toilets on Kinn
When the summer hosts are present on Kinn, from mid-June until the end of August, toilets are available by Kinn Church.
From September to mid-June, there are no open toilet facilities on Kinn.
Kinn Church is closed from September to mid-June. During this period, the church is only open on request or in connection with events at Kinn Church.
