Recommended adviceDon't forget to bring your binoculars. This area of Kvinnherad includes a rare experience of natural variations, with a wide view of glacier and ocean. See alternative return under "Overview".
Overview1 km from the parking lot on a quality gravel road, Setravegen, to a suspension bridge that crosses the Dalelva river on the left. From here, continue on a quality path up Småbotnane and Hestaskarvet, and in flatter terrain all the way to Utigardsetra. From there it is rather steep up to Lake Måvatnet.
An alternative return is to walk down the old mountain farm path. For that alternative, go back past Utigardsetra to where the path divides on the first top, where the mountain farm path turns right. It is steep down in the Juvet where the path crosses Tverrelva river, and then down Øyjordslia to the road. Continue for 500 meters on the road up to the parking lot at Bakke.
