The hike to Indre Høgaksla is a lovely walk with good views from the top. Initially 1 km of marshland, crossing over Eidsåa river on the new bridge. Then 3 km of elevation on a clear path to the top of Høgaksla 564 masl. The “Hållingtop” trig.point is on Høgaksla. Walk onwards past Storfjelltjønna to the cairn (trig.point) on top of Indre Høgaksla, 691 masl. From the top you can see Høylandet, Øyvatnet, Ålmesgrønningen and Storgrønningen in the south-east and Hakavatnet and the ocean in the west. You can walk past Høgakseltjønna pond on the way back, and then follow the path back to the starting point. Total length: approx. 10 km.
DIRECTIONS:
From E6 turn off at Gartland in Grong onto Fv 775, towards Høylandet. Drive north from the centre of Høylandet, then take Fv776 towards Salsbruket. Park by the “Hållingtopp” sign by Ålmesgrønningen.
