From the wonderful and tiny Island of Sommarøy (1hour from Tromsø), « 69nord Sommarøy Outdoor Center » invite you to explore the wild coasts of Tromsø Region. An area at the edge of magnificent fjords and sea spreading between the islands of Senja and Ringvassøya.
The zone is protected from the swell by reefs. This guided trip is specially designed for those who like to sail and walk off the beaten path. We travel onboard a 75’ aluminum boat.
Beginners and families accepted.
We board the “Southern Star” on Saturday morning at 9am (09:00). Short distances are covered every day which allows sailing even in light wind conditions. Every night we are at anchor near the walk we are going to do the following day. The playground for adventures is immense and hiking choices almost unlimited. We can stop on several islands such as Senja, Tussøya, Høgøya, Håja, Sessøya, Gjøssøya, Vengsøya, Rebbenesøya, Hersøya and Ringvassøya, just to mention a few. The hiking pace and range are based on the overall group level and suited to meet everyone’s preference. We are back to the small fishing village of Sommarøy on Thursday afternoon, around 5pm (17:00). We spend the night onboard the boat and disembark on Friday at 8am.
