Hiking trails in Åsnes
Kjølaberget
In Kjølaberget you will find 5 marked trails. The shortest is 0.8 km and the longest is 6.7 km. The trails are labelled red, green, yellow, blue and orange.
Grading: Easy
Suitable for: Adults, children, seniors
Driving directions:
Drive to the centre of Flisa and park your car at Rema 1000.
Tour description:
Follow the cycle path/road northwards past Statoil up to Kjølen farm.
Turn right just after you have passed Kjølen bridge and up towards the
towards the new building site. Follow the tarmac road as far as it goes,
then follow the signs for a new gravel road and on to the trail.
The trail is clearly marked with red ribbons and Fysak signs
all the way to the top. At the top there is a picnic table and good views and
and if you're looking for a longer hike, this is a great starting point
for marked round trips.
Kariskjæret
Length: Short trail: 3.7 km Long trail: 6.6 km
Grading: Easy
Suitable for: Adults, children, senior.
Driving description:
Follow RV 210 on the west side of Åsnes to Kvisler, turn off towards Eierholen.
Drive approximately 6 km west from RV 210. Park at Åsa Grendehus.
Tour description:
Short trail: Take the road to the right of Grendehuset, follow it to the top of Nilsåsen, turn left
up on Kariskjæret. From Kariskjæret there is a great view of the whole of Solør. From here you can see seven
church spires, and far inland past Klokken and into Sweden. From Kariskjæret, the path goes straight south until
you come to a farm track. Follow this down into the village again and on the county road, back to Grendehuset.
Long trail: Is marked with red wooden arrows. Take the county road to the right towards Eierholen. At Eierholen
follow the road to the left (northwards) towards Lotteriet. After about 1 km, a gravel road goes left towards
Sakserud. You'll know you're at the top when you've walked up the steep Tramparbakken. Follow the road to the
left (south) towards Oppåsen, then follow the gravel road back down to the county road and the hamlet house.
The trail runs through a beautiful cultural landscape with agricultural areas and cows.
Skjeppåsen
The trails in Skjeppåsen are not colour-coded, but are clearly visible in the terrain.
Haslåa/Hollarberget - the round of 8
The trail is blue-marked and starts at the machine pond. From here, follow the road for about 500 metres until the ‘8’ begins. The terrain is slightly hilly and is suitable for those who do not want to walk in steep terrain. It follows Haslåa in about 1.5 kilometres northwest.
