This trips explores the co-existence of humans and nature in Hallingskarvet National Park. During the hike we contemplate the topic of life and the balance and connection of all living things.
The trip starts at an altitude of 1200m and climbs up to the mountain cabin of famous Norwegian philosopher Arne Næss, Tvergastein, perched precariously at 1500m above seal-level. Up here the mountain plateau provides us with insight, reflection and inspiration.
The hike starts in flat terrain, but the climb is quite steep. In springtime there may also be lingering snow from the winter.
This trip is suitable for experienced hikers. Good footwear is mandatory, as well as wind and water-proof clothing, food and water. Hiking poles are available if desired.
The trip starts at the information center in the heart of Geilo. Group transport is arranged from here to the start of the hike at Prestholtseter, with commentary along the way.
Geilo has a wide selection of accommodation options, from hotels to cabins or apartments.
Booking on request.
The trip is subject to cancellation in bad weather.
