Ørdalen Nature Reseve is located at Utøy, Inderøy municipality (western coast). The reserve has a rich and varied flora, and a rich cultural history. Traces from peasant`s lives can be seen on numerous places in the reserve. The main attraction is a large Rhododendron tree. The vegetation in- and outside the reserve varies, from beautiful pastures with sheep, to steep wooded hillsides with elm and hazel to the rocky sea shore.

The trail is steep in places, but secured with a rope where the track is at the steepest. Trainers can be used, but the trail can be slippery and wet after rain. The trail can be walked as a round trip as shown on the map. It is recommended to walk to the upper trail out, and the lower trail back because the lower trail is fairly steep (secured with rope).

GPS track can be found here.

Directions:
From Straumen, follow road 755 from Straumen to Utøy. Turn right onto road 231 by the Coop store (now closed down), and continue for 11 kilometer (sign towards Norum) until the sign post on the left hand side. Continue on gravel road past the signboard another 100 meter.
