In Lierne National Park there is a national park monument stone, erected to
commemorate when HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit opened the park. The
hiking trail to the monument takes you into the park, along a signposted trail.
From Grong, drive south on the E6 then turn towards Gäddede on Fv74. Turn right at
Muru (brown sign for Lierne National Park) and drive towards Øvre Jakthytte where
the gateway area to the national park is located. Toll road fee is payable by SMS and
cash. At the starting point of the trail there is a campfire area and an informational
sign. Follow the markings along the trail. The hiking trail is approx. 5 km one way.
