A round trip in the Skorovas mountains is a good day hike for those who want
to walk some distance. The round trip is also an excellent 2-day hike for those
who enjoy wild camping.
The round trip is 17 km from start to finish, along a market trail (red Norwegian
Trekking Association T-s). To get to the starting point of the trail, turn off the E6 at
Grøndalselv, north of Grong. Drive 25 km towards Skorovatn, then drive past
Skorovatn chapel and towards the entrance of the old mine. Park by the mine and
start your hike.
Be aware that the weather changes quickly in the mountains, and good waterproof
and windproof clothes are essential. Maps, compass, and extra food and drink is also
important to bring on this trip. Limited mobile phone service.
