Hiking to Bangsberget, Brumunddal

Overview
Details

Information

Region: Ringsaker municipality, approx.5,5 km from Brumunddal city centre.
Type: Hike on forrest paths, steep hilsides.
Level of difficulty: Medium (code blue)
Length/duration: 3,5 km - approx. 1 hour and 15 min (one way)
Season: May -September

Starting point
Starting point for this hike is an open space next to the Fv 212 that is used for working with timber. You will find this 'parking space' on the right side of the FV212 when driving from Brumunddal. It is situated 1,6 km after passing the road to the camping site Mjøsa Ferie & Fritid, and 500 meters after passing the right hand exit to Stensengdalen. Parking is allowed here.

Turbeskrivelse

From the parking area the hike is steadily rising in the wooded terrain and through areas with beautiful views.
Follow the tractor road from the parking lot and up the hill to the right. After 200 m take the tractor road up the hill to the right and follow this until you are on a new road up from the Stenseng valley. In the middle of the forrest harvest area follow the tractor road that goes up to the left. Here you have a great view of Ringsaker and Veldre. The road now takes a sharp right hand turn. Approximately 250 meters after the turn, you turn left and again the road / path turns right. Continue uphill until you reach the road below Åsen farm. Go up the road and past the barrier. Right after the power line, you can either continue on the road or take the path up the left below the power line. At the top, before the mast, take the path straight to the right, just below the mast. This trail leads to the open area with great views towards Brumunddal and Furnesfjorden.

Take the same road back.
