Hiking with vikings

Join us on a journey back in time at the Tønsviking Medieval homestead.

This tour is operated by Destination Tromsø.

The journey starts in Tromsø city center where you will be picked up and driven to the mainland where your Viking adventure will begin. After a short drive, we will leave our vehicle behind and go on for a lovely, 1 kilometer hike in the wilderness.

At the end of the path you will enter the estate. Centered on an open courtyard, you find five large buildings, built according to centuries-old Viking, Medieval, and Sámi techniques. The master builder of the homestead will welcome you to his world, and tell you about his decades-long project, inspired by the ancient lifestyle and traditions of the people of the North. You will even get the chance to hone your Viking skills by participating in axe-throwing and archery. Join this epic adventure with us today!

Transfer by minibus Tromsø-Tønsvik incl. short hike: 60 minutes
Visit the village (incl. Axe-throwing and archery): 90 minutes
Transfer by minibus Tønsvik-Tromsø incl. short hike: 60 minutes

Included: guide, snack, hot drinks (coffee and tea)
Please bring: lunch (not included), appropriate clothing for hiking and any type of weather, sturdy shoes, water bottle
