This unique hike consist of contrasts and nature in World Class. Fjord landscape, waterfalls, glacier crossing, panorama view, and today also all stories from older days, and so on.

Folgefonna glacier walk is one of Norway's historical walking routes, and the tour across the dramatic icy element has attracted tourists for over 200 years. Since 1800-century, tourists have been fascinated of the hike from Sundal in Mauranger to Odda over Folgefonna glacier. This unique hike consist of contrasts and nature in World Class. Fjord landscape, waterfalls, glacier crossing, panorama view, and today also all stories from older days, and so on. You start from Sundal and follow the marked tourist route to Fonnabu which is a DNT cabin close to the glacier 1450 masl.

Next day glacier guides gives you an adventurous hike over the Folgefonna glacier from Fonnabu to Holmaskjer which is another DNT cabin at the other side of the glacier. After a lunch at Holmaskjer you are descending 1565 meter down to the city Odda which in 1905 was the most visited tourist place in Norway. From Odda take the public bus back to your car in Sundal. The day is full ended when you are served delicious dinner at Rosendal Tourist Hotel and can relax a few meters from the fjord. Next day a "must do" after breakfast is to visit Baroniet Rosendal, with the surrounding gardens.
