Holsbru is the most important gateway to Langsua National Park and the mountain café has been run here for many years. It is now DNT and the manager at Liomseter who run the café.

Welcome to Holsbru!

Holsbru Kafé has long been a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. Our cozy fireplace lounge offers seating for around 24 guests, with plenty of outdoor seating available when the weather is fine.

Delicious Local Food and More
We pride ourselves on serving delicious, locally sourced food. Enjoy our renowned goat sausages, homemade "lapskaus" (a traditional Norwegian stew), and "rømmegrøt" (sour cream porridge). For something sweet, we offer freshly made waffles, ice cream, and other treats.

You'll also find a selection of local products for sale, including artisanal cheeses from Ystelyst Håndverksysteri. We also stock various DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association) items, such as the DNT key, along with fishing licenses, some fishing gear, and bait.

Explore the Area Around Holsbru
Holsbru is an ideal starting point for exploring the beautiful surrounding nature. Gausdal Fjellstyre has marked several short circular hiking trails directly from the café.

On warm summer days, a refreshing dip in Dokkelva is a must – there's a lovely bathing spot about 800 meters from the café. For a more adventurous outing, consider a hike to Ormtjernkampen, formerly Norway's smallest national park.

For more hiking suggestions, you can find detailed information on ut.no.

Accommodation
Please note that Holsbru does not offer overnight accommodation. If you're looking to stay in the area, you can continue 22 km further along the road to Liomseter, which provides lodging options.

Our Hosts
Holsbru Kafé is operated by the same welcoming hosts who run Liomseter Turisthytte.
