Welcome to the Chinese restaurant of Sortland – a small piece of China in northern Norway!
Authentic Chinese experience
The restaurant has about 30 years of history and it's quite famous in the area. We always strive to provide an authentic Chinese experience for our guests, but due to limitations in access to ingredients and differences in regard to food culture, the food we serve is not fully genuine Chinese. Rather, we serve “localized” Chinese food that Norwegians tend to love.
Sweet and sour pork is called "Gulu meat" in China. The dish is supposed to not only taste good, but also smell good. Therefore, when the dish is served at the restaurant, everyone smells it, and their noses and throats make “gulu gulu” sound – hence the name. Of course, our guests have much more other choices in our menu.
Catering and take-away
We can deliver food as catering and guests can pick take-away food at the restaurant (10% discount). We arrange buffet every Friday from 15:00 pm. We can also arrange pre-ordered buffet for min. 10 persons. Many guests appreciate our specialties from the ala cart, e.g. deep-fried chicken fillet w/sweet and sour sauce, rainbow beef, lamb fillet on hot plate, etc. We have lunch of popular dishes from kr. 95. We serve dinner from kr. 148.
The restaurant was renovated as of February 2020. As you can see, the restaurant has been added more Chinese elements. Now we have a separate cozy facility for all kinds of parties, such as wedding, birthday, confirmation etc. We hope that our customers visit us not only for the sake of filling their stomache, but also to enjoy the food culture and the atmosphere of our restaurant.
We are committed to provide both good food and good service to our customers at reasonable prices.
See you at our restaurant!
