Dalholen
Horse Riding with Kvistli Farm
Your hosts at Kvistli, Morten and Anne Ma, welcome you. We and our competent staff do all we can to give our guests an unforgettable horse riding holiday!
Our Equestrian Centre is located at Kvistli Farm at Dalholen, at the top of Folldal Municipality. Dovre and Rondane National Parks are virtually right outside the door, making the farm an ideal base for horse riding in this beautiful and unique countryside.
The farm is about 900 meters above sea level, situated in magnificent surroundings, in an area known for its fascinating geology, flora and fauna.
Staying at the farm
Choose your own riding trips with your accommodation, meals and base at the farm. Decide your arrival and departure days – we offer 2-7 day packages.
Themed Tours
Join a multi-day horse-riding adventure with overnighting outside of the farm. Themed tours are popular with visitors looking for something a little more challenging, but you need not be an experienced and accomplished rider to participate. The important thing is that you love the great outdoors and are used to being active. Our comprehensive tour menu offers different tours with various themes.
Tours vary by length, difficulty and content. We’ve a number of exciting themes and each year we introduce new themes, giving more and more outdoor adventures. Tours also vary in terms of comfort and accommodation and we are confident we offer something to suit everyone.
Each tour has its own charm, whether it be sleeping close to the stars, 1000 meters over the sea, in large tents with a wood-burning stove, or staying in the comfort of a hotel. We often stay in cabins or at farms in the mountains. The farm valleys are teeming with life in the summer, with horses, cattle, sheep and goats all grazing in their element.
Come and join us for an active and exciting holiday adventure.
Accommodation and dining
Bed and breakfast
We offer accommodation with a breakfast buffet and have everything from single rooms to family rooms that can sleep several guests.
You stay in the main farmhouse, which has large, cosy rooms on the 2nd floor with a basin and WC off the hallway. There are two double rooms with private shower and a sink. We also have a large and nicely decorated shower facility in the basement. There’s a lounge, a communal TV room and a large veranda with sofa and beautiful views. There really is plenty of space to relax!
Full-board accommodation
In addition to riding holidays we offer general accommodation on the farm, which includes a buffet breakfast. We offer lunch and dinner for our overnight guests and all meals are served at the long refectory table in the dining room. Many of our ingredients are sourced from local producers and we serve rustic meals in a homely environment. Our menu is varied with both traditional Norwegian and international cuisine.
Winter at Kvistli
We welcome guests throughout the year, full-board or self catering. Folldal and Dovrefjell are wonderful in winter!
There are tens-of-kilometres of prepared ski trails around the farm and surrounding areas. Life on the farm is so calm, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
