Horseback Riding
With a fantastic view of the Lyngen Alps and the shipping lane that stretches through Grøtsundet, you will find Tromsø Lyngshest horseback riding about 40 minutes from Tromsø. Here you are surrounded by magnificent nature and with the midnight sun and northern lights when weather conditions allow.
You will be welcomed at the farm by our local guide, and then meet our indigenous and unique horse breed from Troms, Lyngshesten. Here you will hear about the salvage work of the breed after WW2, when it was very critical and very few individuals remained. Tromsø Lyngshest runs one of the largest breeds in Norway of Lyngshest, and with us you will get to join the herd and greet all our breeding mares and foals. Then we select horses, which we take in and groom and prepare for riding. We have helmets, customers must bring and wear warm clothes. We ride out from the farm and follow the road to the beautiful beach located at Snarby.
After the walk, we take care of the horses, before releasing the horses into the herd.
We serve warm drinks and lokal snacks after the tour.
There will be plenty of opportunities for selfies, so you may want to bring a camera as there will be plenty of opportunities to last this memorable trip.
