Husky Dog Sledding daytime - Arctic Adventure Tours

  •  /  km From You
Overview

Come and join us and our 130 Alaskan Huskies as you experience the thrill of driving your own team of dogs. You will be picked up at Scandic Ishavshotel and driven along the scenic coastline of Kvaløya on-route to our friendly and interactive kennel. Here you will be greeted by one of our professional staff and outfitted in the right clothes and equipment necessary for sledding. We will give you a brief talk on the history of the breed of dogs and take you through a informative demonstration of how to drive one of the sleds. You will then be led to your team of huskies and our guides will assist you in starting your journey.

You and your dogs will work together as a team. You must be active for this experience as the dogs are very strong and eager to run, good balance and being able to lean from side to side on your sled is vital to successfully drive your team. Throughout the tour your guides will take you across trails with breath-taking views of snow-covered highlands, stopping periodically so that you may switch drivers with your partner - during these stops you will hear just how excited and eager these dogs are to run again.

Once back at the kennel you will have a chance to say thank you and goodbye to your team before heading into a traditional Lavvu where you can relax with some hot drinks and our world famous chocolate cake. Afterwards, you are welcome to pet some dogs and take some photographs in our kennel, before you will be transported back to Tromsø.
