Riding trips on Icelandic horses
At Mesna we offer short and long rides all year round, from a 2-hour forest experience close to the farm to a full-day trip with a break around the campfire – or even a 3- or 4-day trek into the mountains.
We have a heard of over 50 horses, and place great emphasis on finding the perfect one for every rider to ensure an optimum experience.
Max. weight: 90 kg Min. age: 10. Because of animal welfare and safety, we strictly adhere to the weight limit and minimum age. However, some exceptions may be considered; please contact us at info@mesna.no.
2-hour trip
The trip takes place in the area surrounding Mesna. With its tracks and forest lanes, this riding terrain are by many described as Northern Europe's most spectacular! Larger groups will have at least two guides. Suitable for riders of all skill levels. Available for individuals as well as groups.
Meet at the stables 15 minutes before departure.
Please dress according to the weather. Helmets can be borrowed from us.
Half-day trip
A half-day trip (3 to 4 hours) gives you the opportunity to get to know the Icelandic horse and its various gaits – such as the smooth four-beat ‘tölt’ – as we explore a network of trails and endless forest lanes.
NB! The half-day trips are for experienced riders ONLY.
Full-day trip
On this trip we ride through varied terrain at a suitable pace. We are proud to show you our horseback riding paradise, with the peaks and lakes of the Ringsaker mountain and the forests with their network of trails and lanes. Remember to bring a packed lunch. We will bring a packhorse and the coffee pot. During our break, the horses roam free as we gather around the campfire.
NB! The full-day trips are for experienced riders ONLY.
Cancellation terms
Cancellations can be made via e-mail up to 75 hours prior to the trip. This applies to day-offers only (lead-rein, 2-hour, half-day, and full-day trips). For riding camps and multi-day trips, separate cancellation terms apply. Please contact us. Cancellation fee: NOK 100. Late cancellations are charged in full.
