This is cross country skiing in the Rondane National Park and it's not too physically demanding. You might spot a herd of caribous as this is their territory.

This is cross country skiing in the Rondane National Park and it's not too physically demanding. You might spot a herd of caribous as this is their territory.

The starting point is at the parking lot at Spidsbergseter Resort Rondane. The tour goes towards Flaksjøen-Kvanndalen-Dørhøgda-Indre Uksan and then back through Fremre Uksan-Bøllia-Øygardseter. The tour is finished where you started.

Crossroad by Flaksjøen, take to the east towards Kvanndalen. In Kvanndalen south towards Dørhøgda. From Dørhøgda east to Indre Uksan. At Fremre Uksan west towards Bøllia.
From Bøllia southwest towards Øygardseter, keep northwest from here to the
starting point.

No open streams or need of crossing any roads.

The tour as a whole is 12 km. There are possibilities of making it longer or shorter if desired.

Amazing views in an untouched mountain landscape. The Rondane National Park. Fun descents in great ski tracks. Possibilities of spotting the caribous in the area.

Bring a map of the ski trails; this is to be bought at the tourism establishments in the destination. The tour is clearly signposted. Bring good winter clothes, food and something to drink, the weather in the mountains changes quickly. Take a look at Skisporet.no before you get out, making sure the tracks are prepared. Inform someone about your plans, where you will go and when you are planning to start the tour. Bring your camera – this is picture perfect surroundings!
