Island hopping in the Langesund fjord– Brevik– Stathelle-Helgeroa– Langesund
Pack your bag and discover the islands in the Langesund fjord. It's easier than you think; you can catch a ferry to 9 different islands, each so enjoyable that it will give you a new and unforgettable summer adventure.
The ferry trips start in Brevik, Langesund or Helgeroa and go to Sandøya, Løvøya, Oksøya, Bjørkøya, Siktesøya, Langøya, Little Arøya, Great Arøya and Stokkøya. (“Øy” in Norwegian means island). The boat moves through a beautiful fjord landscape packed with exciting history and pleasing sense impressions.
Go on a day trip or spend a night or two in the skerries; there are simple tenting sites, cabin hire and camping sites, should you want to stay overnight.
Sheltered beaches and shiny rocks call for swimming and sunbathing. You can take a stroll on roads and paths, and on some islands you can ride a bike, push a wheelchair or stroller. One island has a shop and some have a restaurant or café. The islands have a rich bird-life, varied geology and abundant plant growth.
A separate brochure with map and detailed information about island hopping will be released for distribution before the summer holiday.
