Visual artist Kjell Erik Killi-Olsen has for a number of years dreamed of creating an exhibition space with a focus on younger artists. When Killi-Olsen bought Kjøpmannsgata 36/38 in 2017, it was an old fire site with older buildings. Here he wanted to build Trondheim’s most attractive meeting place for art and culture, and in autumn 2021 he finally opened the doors to K-U-K, Kjøpmannsgata Ung Kunst.

The gallery has in a short time established itself as an important cultural institution in Trondheim and Norway and hits both wide and narrow, with space for both established and less established artists. Younger works of art have received the most space.

It is particularly important for K-U-K that art is accessible to everyone, and is therefore open seven days a week from 11 am to 6 pm. In addition, entry is free for everyone.
