Kaaen Saw and Mill, Rakkestad
A preserved and partially restored industrial monument by the river Dørja.
Kaaen Sag and Mill is a well-kept and partially restored industrial memory by the river Dørja. An old mill location.
The last facility was built in 1850-60. First it was driven by a water wheel before switching to a fall turbine in 1927.
A non-commissioned officer built the mill but went bankrupt. Then Edvard Sekkelsten bought the mill and his son Harald Sekkelsten took over in 1922. The mill stayed with the family up until 1967 when it got sold to Borgarsyssel museum.
In 1985, Rakkestad history team bought and took over the land.

From Rakkestad center ca 1km northeast to Lundkrysset to the left by Lien, in Kåenveien and ca. 3km further.
