Gryllefjord
Stay in a real fishing village and go Sea angling on Senja
Gryllefjord offers a vibrant fishing environment, with activity out at sea, on the quay and in the traditional baiting sheds. The coastal waters around Senja provide excellent fishing opportunities year‑round. From January to May, you can try your luck with the migrating skrei, and in summer you’ll find big coalfish, cod and a variety of exciting bottom species such as halibut, redfish and wolffish.
Weather conditions can be unpredictable until May, so fishing from larger boats is recommended early in the season. You decide whether you simply want to enjoy the scenic boat trip, or go for the big catch hiding in the depths.
On good days, you can fish at traditional spots out at sea, or stay sheltered inside the fjords, surrounded by the majestic mountains of outer Senja.
The hosts at Kaikanten are happy to share their best local tips to increase your chances of landing a trophy fish.
