Kongsvinger Museum consists of three different buildings – Gyldenborg, Aamodtgården and Skinnarbøl school museum.
The main location is Gyldenborg by Kongsvinger fortress
Here you can see the exhibition «1814 – another history», about how people in the district of Kongsvinger lived a couple of hundred years ago. The exhibition also draws lines to adequat questions of our own time.
The summer exhibition in 2016 also draws lines between the past and today: «Solør-hijab. What women wore on their head in the 1900 century seen in the light of today's debate of the hijab.»
Aamodtgården, the heritage building of the magasin administrator from 1801, is also situated nearby the fortress
Here you can see the captain's appartment from app. 1920, which is kept just like it was when they left it in 1968.
Skinnarbøl school museum in the old school from 1862 is situated nearby the big farm Skinnarbøl by the Vinger - lake.
Here you can see the old class rooms and an exhibition of old school photos. The museum is open on Sundays in the summer.
On Gyldenborg there is a museum store where you can buy locale litterature, gifts, souvenirs and a cup of coffee.
The reseption also contains of Kongsvinger Tourist Information. Gyldenborg is the administration building of Anno Museum's departments in South-Hedmark.
The Region museum consists of Kongsvinger Museum, The Womens Museum, Eidskog Museum and Odalstunet.
