Kvassheim harbour is located within short distance of the regional route 44 between Hårr and Kvalbein in a landscape protection area.
Next to the harbour is the ancient lighthouse built in 1912. The lighthouse is today an exhibition centre as well as a visitor centre with a cafe open mostly on Sundays. There is four buildings in total. The area is managed by Jæren Friluftsråd.
The hike from Kvassheim towards the south goes through an area of cultural heritage. There is a spectacular view from the harbour. The distance is short from here to areas such as Vigrestad and Brusand via the regional route 44 (3,5 - 4 kilometres).
