Leirvassbu - a meeting point for mountain trekkers  in Jotunheimen.

Leirvassbu is a mountain lodge in Jotunheimen, situated by the lake Leirvatnet, just below the characteristic mountain Kyrkja.

At 4600 feet (1400 meters) above sea level, Leirvassbu is an excellent base camp and starting point for mountain walking, climbing peaks, glacier walking, glacier courses, spring skiing, rock climbing and fishing in mountain lakes.

Leirvassbu has been a centre for mountain walking ever since the first stone hut was built there in 1875. Today Leirvassbu can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests. A solid breakfast is served, at which those who wish to can prepare a packed lunch and fill a thermos flask. Coffee, cakes and simple meals may be purchased during daytime hours. In the evening, a 3-course dinner is served. The bar is open for beer, wine and spirits. The lodge is primarily intended for mountain walkers.

Tove and Ole Jacob Grindvold are the hostess and host at Leirvassbu

Leirvassbu is situated only 28 miles from the centre of Lom (about an hour’s car journey).Welcome to the mountains and to Leirvassbu!
