Leirvik lighthouse
Leirvik lighthouse is a unique and idyllic accommodation. Here you get a cottage and an island all to yourself.
From the island there is a lovely view towards the Hardangerfjord in the north and Ryvarden in the south. Leirvik lighthouse is located on the island of Midtøya in the archipelago outside Leirvik, the main town on the Stord isle. The Keeper's Cottage has accommodation for 8 people, and all the facilities you need.
A short boat trip of 10-12 minutes from the centre of Leirvik takes you over to a sheltered pier on the west side of the island.
On Midtøya you can swim, go for a walk around the island or do some fishing. From the island you have a perfect starting point to visit the Sunnhordland area by boat. Here you are a short distance from both rural and urban areas, and in the centre of Leirvik you will find cafes, activities, groceries and restaurants.
Accommodation is easily booked through Stord Municipality, which owns the lighthouse and operates it together with the voluntary organisation Venelaget for Leirvik lighthouse. If you don't have your own boat, you can hire a boat at weekends and in the month of July. You will also get free parking for your car at the port in Leirvik.
