Lesja open air museum is situatet in the heart of the Norwegian mountains with Reinheimen national park on the doorsteep. The museum is where young and old come together to experience local culture and history through exhibitions and activities.
A new entrence area with shopping opportunities, ticket sale and toilets opend in 2015. Here you will be able to get local information about the area and the museum. During our summer sesaon local vounteer fill our museum area with traditional baking and various traditional crafts. The museum area is enclosed by fence, this gives children a great place to run around, try some local baking or crafts techniques or feed the farm animals. Next to the museum you will find Lesja Church, built in 1749, which is famous for its manificent wood carvings.
