I Lierdalen (the Lier Valley) fruit and vegetables are abundant. This makes the trip through the valley a unique experience in the spring when the plants carry their flowers and also in the fall during the harvest.
If you look closely, you can see signs of how the ice from the last ice-age has sculptured the landscape. There are three lage moraines in the valley.
You get there by driving E18 north from Drammen to Kjellstad (just a few miles) and then follow the signs to Lierbyen. Continue along Rv 285 on the east side of the valley until you get to Sylling.
There you get a great look at Holsfjorden, part of a larger lake called Tyrifjorden. Try the west side of the valley on the way back.
