Lillehammer Art Museum is one of Norway’s leading art museums. The collection consists of over 1800 works dating from the 19th century to the present day. Part of the collection is always on show.

The museum building was designed by Snøhetta for the Lillehammer Winter Olympics in 1994.
THE COLLECTION – favorites and surprises
In 2024, we present our permanent art collection through an entirely new exhibition that focuses, among other things, on periods such as national romanticism, mood painting, post-war, and contemporary art. In the new collection you will be able to experience art from well known artists such as Johan Christian Dahl, Frits Thaulow, Harriet Backer, Carl Larsson, Edward Munch, Henrik Sørensen, Helene Schjerfbeck, Jakob Weidemann, Anna-Eva Bergman, Mette Tronvoll, Matias Faldbakken, Jana Winderen and many more. FRAMED - American urban photography 1907-2012
The exhibition FRAMED invites the audience on an exciting visual journey through the American metropolises of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco in the decades between 1910 and 1980. With a revolutionary new photographic perspective, American photo artists capture the pulsating rhythm of urban life in their images.
