Glacier Rafting in Jostedal Valley for the smallest of the family!
This is a relaxed, family friendly rafting tour passing outstanding mountain scenery. The rafting boat stop at a stream that comes down from Jostedal’s most beautiful waterfall (Geisdalsfossen) to play in the water and have a hot chocolate drink, a few selfies and then we are on our way again.
This trip is also the start of the ELVEPURKA whitewater tour, so if you are not sure which trip your children can take, we can all try the LITTLE PIGGIES section and make a decision together about who continues before we enter the ELVEPURKA whitewater section of the river. Then, if everyone agrees (child, guide, parent) we have a chance to continue further down into the whitewater rafting part of the river.
The river here in Jostedal is perfect for rafting, as the waves get bigger and bigger the further we go. If you are nervous, we can take you out of the raft at any time – but there is no reason for that, is there!

All rafting equipment, wetsuit, shoes, transport, ice cold water.
Where and When:
"Purkebingen", Jostedal Hotel, on road 604. The trips begin at either 10:00 or 14:00 each day.
Please arrive 10 minutes before start time.
Getting Here:
From Sogndal:take road 55 to Gaupne (approximately 30km).Turn left onto road 604 toward Breheimsenter and Jostedalen (approximately 29km to Jostedal Hotel – our meeting place). When you enter Gjerde, the Hotel is on your right side. Look for sign to the ‘Purkebingen’.
From Lom: take road 55 to Gaupne. Turn right onto road 604 toward Breheimsenter and Jostedalen then follow the instructions above:
