Mt. Ljomsnuten, at 1,268 m, is the highest peak in the mountains east of Valle.
This is a round trip where the first part of the hike is similar to the Mt. Valefjell summit hike. From Mt. Valefjell, you continue to “Varden”, a natural picnic spot on the old mountain farm road to Finndalen. From here, follow the trail south to Mt. Ljomsnuten.
This is a high-lying trail with magnificent views all the way; a relatively simple hike, except for a somewhat steeper section a few hundred metres before the top. A large cairn marks the summit of Mt. Ljomsnuten, from where there is a unique panoramic view of the western and eastern hills of Setesdal – as well as large parts of Telemark, including the mountain Gaustatoppen, 100 kilometres away.
