With a visit to Mårbu Tourist Cabin, the children can experience real mountain scenery. There are several hiking possibilities in the area.
However, the highlight is the animals who also live here during summer. Horses, pigs, chickens and lambs have found their way to Mårbu. You can help out with feeding the animals or just cuddle with them.
It's not just pets at Mårbu, but also a lot of fish in the water right by the cabin. Try fishing either from land or rent a boat.
Free accommodation for children
Mårbu Tourist Cabin is well-suited for families who want to stay for several days, and therefore they have now introduced free accommodation for children and reduced food prices.
The easiest way to get to Mårbu Tourist Cabin is to take the boat from Synken. This is a 40 minute boat ride. It is also possible to walk along the lake, a hike of about 6 hours.
To get to Synken head to Atrå, about 25 km east of Rjukan. Follow signs to Kalhovd. From Kalhovd Tourist Cabin it is about 8 km to Synken.
