Experience magnificent Arctic scenery close up and join us on our summer adventure to beautiful Isfjord Radio at Cape Linnè. We embark for Longyearbyen by boat, on our way we will have time to enjoy the fantastic fjord, the bird cliffs and the animal wildlife. Far away from the civilization in Longyearbyen you’ll discover a history, biological diversity and geological conditions which make Isfjord Radio a fascinating place to visit. The former radio station is situated at the outermost part of the Isfjord with majestic mountains overlooking the Arctic Ocean. In combination with our unique accommodation, you will enjoy a level of quality and comfort that is unexpected so far into the wilderness.
DAY 1: Our guide will meet you in the reception at your hotel at 5 pm. You will get information about the trip, equipment and outfit details. Transport to the quay, where our polarcirkel boat is ready to start the safari tour towards Isfjord Radio. On the way, we have time to enjoy the fantastic fjord scenery, animal wildlife and arctic seabirds. After arrival and check in, we will be served a 3-course dinner.
DAY 2: Breakfast is served from 8 am. After the breakfast we will board the boat for an exciting safari to the west side of the fjord. The route will be east along the coastline before crossing Isfjorden at Kapp Starostin and go straight to the mighty bird cliffs of Alkehornet with thousands of nesting birds. In Trygghamna we go ashore and enjoy expedition lunch at the beach. After lunch, we will have a closer look at the area before boarding the safari boat and head for the fantastic Esmark Glacier in Ymerbukta. If we are lucky, we might observe whales, seals or get a glimpse of the king of the Artic, the polar bear. In the evening a 3-course dinner awaits us at the Isfjord Radio.
DAY 3: Breakfast is followed by a new day of adventure. After breakfast we say goodbye to and pack our bags and head to the boat. We go to Grønfjorden and the Russian settlement Barentsburg. Barentsburg is a mining city with approx. 350 residents and a fascinating place to visit. We go ashore and take a tour around town before light lunch is served in the brewery. After lunch we head back to the boat and set course towards Longyearbyen. We make several interesting stop along the way. We are back in Longyearbyen during the afternoon.
