This tour is conducted by Tromsø Villmarkssenter. Explore the Arctic summer nights and go husky trekking the next morning.
This tour is upon request for groups of 6 participants or more.
The Arctic summer days have no end. During the polar day, the sun stays above the horizon for 24 hours a day – a delight after the long, dark winter months.
Join us in our campsite around a bonfire to grill sausages and marshmallows until late at night, relaxing, telling stories and working on a midnight-suntan. When it is time to go to bed, a lightproof cabin guarantees a good night’s rest. The next morning awaits with Husky trekking.
After breakfast, we take with us our four-legged trekking buddies and set out into the wilderness. Our Alaskan huskies are strong and trained to pull – you will not have to hold the leash for the whole duration of the trek but be prepared for some exercise. Usually, we give one Husky for two-three guests. You will still develop a close bond with “your” Husky, especially since we need your help with training them for the next sledding season.
Back the campsite, Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish stew will be served (vegetarian alternative available upon prior request) and after saying goodbye to the dogs, we will bring you back to Tromsø.
Included: guiding, transfer (35 min. each way), rain clothes and boots, all camping equipment, breakfast, warm lunch
Please bring: all you need for the overnight stay
Departure time and place: 08:45pm (20:45) from Radisson Blu Hotel
Duration: 17 hours
Level of difficulty: medium. All participants must be able to trek uneven terrain while handling a dog. Small children and infants can participate if carried.
