Description and itinerary:
Starting from Tromsø, searching for local reindeer. See how they sometimes walk in the street like people or cars, or lay down in the tall grass. Reindeer normally hang around the neighbourhoods of the Whale Island (Kvaløya).
The road goes west through Kaldfjord where we will observe how the mountains meet the sea at Ersfjordbotn. These mountains have a history going back 2,8 billion years. Commonly used in post-cards and calendars, it's a recognizable sight.
Next stop is an Arctic beach. Pure and made up of thousands of small shells. The white sand and yellow flowers beyond create the perfect backdrop. Small fishing boats and dry fish racks show a lifestyle in tune with nature.
Finally the tour goes to Sommarøy and Hillesøy. Where the open ocean is visible and on clear summer nights, the sun never sets below the ocean horizon. On the other side 1300 kilometers away is Greenland. These islands have given shelter to traders and people for thousands of years, and they still remain largely unchanged.
There will be many photo-stops during the trip. The guide will inform about how the landscape was made. On the way, many villages will show how the Northern Norwegians live.
