Midnight Sun Sea Kayaking Tour - Excluding Transfer

This tour is conducted by Sommarøy Adventure.

This tour does not include a transfer from and back to Tromsø. Please meet up at our activity center on Sommarøy 15 minutes before departure time.

From late May to late July, the sun never sets North of the Arctic circle, giving us 24 hours of daylight which is perfect for a peaceful paddle in glowing evening light. After a short safety briefing and introduction to kayaking at the activity centre, we head out onto the waters.

The guide will choose the best location for the weather conditions. As we paddle silently through the clear waters, you may see seals, sea eagles, otters, and even small porpoise whales that sometimes show up around the kayaks due to their curious nature.

We move gently through nature, surrounded by white beaches, and tall mountains and your local guide will share stories about Sommarøy’s fishing history and everyday life as well as share knowledge about the local wildlife. Half-way the tour, we’ll go ashore on one of the secluded beaches for a nice break.

If you're interested in improving your paddling skills, just ask! We use stable double kayaks, but experienced paddlers can request a single (to be decided on spot). After the tour, we return to shore and drop of our gear at the activity centre.

Included:

• dry suit if needed, paddle vest (pfd)
• Paddle mitts, and neoprene boots

Please bring:
• Warm baselayers to wer underneath the drysuit
• Warm fleece/sweater
• Beanie and gloves
• Camera/GoPro (optional)
• Waterbottle

Level of difficulty: Medium: no prior kayaking experience required
