Mjøsas Ark in Kapp – Learn about the history of Mjøsa and life on Norway’s greatest lake. Fishing, log driving and boating history go hand-in-hand with the story of the people who lived and worked on lake Mjøsa.
Mjøsmuseet opened Mjøsas Ark on 7 June 2015
If you visit the exhibition Mjøsas Ark in Kapp Melkefabrikk in Østre Toten this summer, you can see 8,000-year old rock carvings from the shores of lake Mjøsa. Viking swords, found in a burial mound close to Kapp Melkefabrikk, are being exhibited in Toten for the first time. If you want to experience what it was like to be at the helm of a steamboat, you can step on to the top deck of the steamer Tordenskjold.
Norway’s greatest lake is on the door step of the exhibition hall in Kapp Melkefabrikk in Toten.
The Skibladnerbrygga jetty is perfect for a dip in the lake.
