The ruins of Mjøskastellet are situated on the island Steinsholmen in Lake Mjøsa. It was build around year 1230 and at that time it was one of the largest buildings in Norway. The buildings might have been as high as 10 meters. After year 1300 the castle slowly decayed but no-one knows exactly when.
