Mosvatnet lake and Vålandsskogen forest are the most popular areas for hiking in Stavanger. The 3 kilometres walk around Mosvatnet lake is a feast for eyes and ears as you pass through beautiful scenery that is home to a thriving bird life! No less than 140 bird species have been registered here and around 50 of these nest in the area. If you wish to extend your walk, you can continue into Vålandsskogen forest via footbrigdes over the motorway. Peering above the forest is Vålandstårn tower, open Sundays, offering a splendid view over Stavanger.
Transport: within walking distance from Stavanger city centre (1km), towards Madla/ E39 highway area. Use freeway pedestrian bridge to access walk paths around Mosvatnet.
