Enjoy the wonderful view from the town mountain Aksla, in Ålesund. A good place to start would be the 418 steps from Byparken town park.
At the top of Ålesund's town mountain, Aksla, you can enjoy an incredibly beautiful view overlooking islands, the town center, and the Sunnmøre Alps. Feel free to explore the numerous paths leading to several recreational areas like Dammene (with a fitness park), Rundskue viewpoint, and the lean-to shelter in the forest, among others. You can also walk down towards the fjord and take the path Borgernes vei back to the town center.
To reach Aksla, you can either walk the 418 steps from Byparken, take a taxi, or drive your own car via Borgundfjordveien/Fjelltunveien. For those who want to take advantage of the walking paths on the mountain, an alternative route down is through Vannspringdalen.
Feel free to enjoy the view from Fjellstua over a cup of coffee, a local sweet treat called "svele," or a delicious meal.
