NØSTETANGEN
Nøstetangen Norsk Glassmuseum – Norway's only glass museum.

The glassworks Nøstetangen Glasværk (1741–1777) was founded by King Christian VI in Hokksund – "in the far-away forests". The chandeliers in Kongsberg church and the bowls engraved by Heinrich Gottlieb Køhler are the finest relics from Norway's first glassworks.

The museum also boasts fine glassware from Hurdal, Gjøvig, Hadeland, Høvik, Magnor and Randsfjord glassworks and industrial glass from Drammen glassworks.

Every summer the museum puts on an exhibition of glass art by a modern glass artist and an exhibition with a famous glass designer.

The museum is in the old "Sorenskrivergården" building from 1904 in Hokksund, which is in the beautiful park Skriverparken on the banks of the river Drammenselva. After a tour of the museum, you can relax in the park and enjoy a coffee with waffles, or you can go for a stroll along the riverbank.
