Welcome to a guided tour of Nordarnøy coastal fort!
This is a German fortress from World War II, built 1941/42. The facility is located on Nordarnøy about 6 km from the ferry quay on Sørarnøy. On the site are 3 original 15 cm cannons and there are command towers, bunkers and tufts after the camp area.
The coastal fort on Nordarnøy, in Gildeskål municipality, was established in 1941/42 as part of the German strengthening of the coastal defense on the Norwegian coast. This coastal fort was one of thirteen forts in the Bodø area, around "Festung Bodø".
