Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum
From June 2023, you can experience Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum’s exhibitions and collection at TKM Gråmølna. Trondheim Art Museum is lending parts of TKM Gråmølna to Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum for an extended period.
The permanent exhibitions used to span over three floors. The ground floor featured Belgian architect Henry van de Velde’s specially designed interior from 1907/08, and the Danish architect Finn Juhl's specially designed office, Interior 52. The upper floor was devoted to Hannah Ryggen’s tapestries and the museum’s large collection of Japanese handicrafts. The latest addition to the collection is a samurai armour from the Edo period.
The museum’s basement featured a large exhibition covering the history of design and handicrafts with a strong focus on contemporary art.
