On the moraine shore of the icy fjord, at the edge of the blue glacier, stands our hidden expedition lodge NORDENSKIOLD LODGE.
During summer, you can reach the cabin by boat from Longyearbyen harbor, a two hour boat ride in good weather. We use open polar circle boats to cross the Isfjorden to Nordenskiöld Lodge. During wintertime you can reach the lodge by dog sled or snowmobile. We have several interesting tours for the winter that combine Basecamp North Pole Camp and Nordenskiöld as part of the same expedition. With no running water or electricity, Nordenskiöld is a true expedition lodge in the middle of the Arctic, situated 100 km from Longyearbyen. We use wood to heat the cabin, and get our drinking water from the melting glacier. There are 5 bedrooms with fantastic Arctic views, 10 comfortable beds, indoor toilet, and a traditional wood sauna.
