The restaurant is run by a chef couple, and is located in an old converted barn, serving locally produced and tasty mountain cuisine.
"The hosts at Nordre Ekre are both chefs, and every day they put together a menu based on local ingredients from Gudbrandsdalen as well as international ingredients. Norwegian artisan cheeses are always an option on the menu, and in the season we have a wide selection of them. Locally they source ingredients from more than 20 farmers and food producers, ranging from organic salad and vegetables to premium meats and cheeses.
The restaurant is located in the old barn, in a comfortable room full of atmospheric charm. You will find it in Heidal, in the Gudbrandsdalen valley, not far from Otta, Vinstra and Vågåmo.
The restaurant does not feature an à la carte menu, but the chefs are happy to make changes to the evening’s set menu, also taking into account food allergies or dietary requirements like vegetarian and vegan. Please let them know of any dietary requirements when you book your table.
