Winter in Northern Norway is not just about “hunting” for the Northern Lights – it also offers a very special atmosphere, exciting stories and spectacular coastal nature. On our exclusive Northern Lights Safari you get exactly this combination – during an atmospheric and memorable evening.

We pick up the guests directly from the hotel and drive to Nyksund – an old fishing village with an impressive location by the sea. Here you will receive an inspiring Northern Lights lecture with both scientific facts, local stories and practical tips for observation.

Throughout the evening we of course have "an eye" on the sky – and as soon as the Northern Lights appear, we go out and enjoy the experience together. Already during the drive to Nyksund we are flexible and stop if the Northern Lights appear along the way.

Upon arrival, guests receive a special Northern Lights welcome drink and a short introduction with our guides.

Night walk through Nyksund

With headlamps and crampons (if needed), we walk together through Nyksund's fascinating history - from abandoned fishing village to vibrant cultural community.

Northern Lights buffet

A delicious dinner made with local ingredients provides a tasty experience of the Arctic.

Aurora presentation

An exciting lecture provides insight into both the science and myths behind the Northern Lights - with local stories and personal experiences. If the Northern Lights appear during the lecture, we take a break and go out to see.

Time to enjoy

After the presentation, there is time for questions, conversations and "hygge" (cosy time) before the bus takes you back to your hotel.
